Abriachan

Sitting high above Loch Ness the Abriachan trails, known as the Kelpies trails offer a range of routes -particularly suited to families but also with 4km of red grade trail.

Hone your skills on the Kelpies’ dare obstacle course beside the main car park … cycle around boulders, over ramps and under poles before setting out on the 3km easy green trail. Beware, a kelpie lurks under the bridge and your only escape is to cross running water and back to the car park or to turn towards Rivoulich and chase the kelpies’ trails…… following the blue arrows…. all the way up to Creag Ard’s 10Glens and Bens vantage point.

Weave between the trees, swoop round the berms, along the moderate blue 7km trail, down through the Rivoulich bends and then duck and dive over the jumps back to the red quarry.

Skilled riders divert along the unsurfaced 4km technical red trail with its steep slopes and narrow tracks… much more of a challenge to any kelpies in pursuit…but know your own limits and assess the risks before choosing your escape route.
