The Highlands has so much to offer- spectacular mountains, waterfalls, rivers, lochs.... but there's more than scenery to keep you occupied - whether you're looking for a day off from riding or whether you're travelling with a non mountain biker. So, for more ideas on what to see and do around each centre, read on!

Abriachan, Balnain and the 10 Glens, Loch Ness

With all three locations being just south of the city of Inverness and close to Loch Ness, Strathglass and Glen Affric you’re well placed for access to many attractions including of course world famous Loch Ness itself. Places to visit include Abriachan Garden Nursery, Loch Ness 2000 Exhibition Centre and the Original Loch Ness Monster Centre, both in Drumnadrochit, Urquhart Castle near Drumnadrochit; the Caledonian Canal Heritage Centre and the Highland Rare Breeds Park both in Fort Augustus and boat trips on Loch Ness.

Fort William

Fort William, at the southern end of the Great Glen, is dominated by Ben Nevis and is the gateway to the West Highlands. The area - the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’, boasts many adventure activities whilst also offering some great attractions. These include the Nevis Range gondola, the Clan Cameron Museum, Spean Bridge; Glen Nevis Visitor Centre - Ionad Nibheis; and, in Fort William, Ben Nevis Distillery, West Highland Museum, Crannog Sea Cruises, Jacobite Steam Train and Treasures of the Earth.

Highland Wildcat, Golspie

The coastal route through this area of Sutherland offers some exceptional scenery along with the villages of Dornoch, Golspie, Brora and Helmsdale, all of which have golf courses, including the world famous links at Royal Dornoch. Places to visit include Dunrobin Castle and Gardens, Golspie; Orcadian Stone Company, Golspie; Clynelish Distillery, Brora; Timespan Heritage Centre, Helmsdale and Historylinks Museum, Dornoch.

Laggan Wolftrax, Cairngorms

Lying at the western edge of the Cairngorms National Park, one of Europe’s most enduringly beautiful places and not far from the west coast at Fort William this is the perfect place for adventure in every sense. As well as the many excellent activity options, from winter sports to water sports there are numerous visitor attractions. As well as those listed for Fort William above some great places to visit locally are Waltzing Waters, Newtonmore; Clan MacPherson Museum, Newtonmore; Highland Folk Museum, in both Newtonmore and Kingussie and the Highland Wildlife Park, Kincraig.

Learnie Red Rock, Black Isle

The Black Isle landscape is a pleasant mix of coastal and rural scenery with many historic villages – Avoch, Fortrose, Rosemarkie and Cromarty. Attractions include Cromarty Courthouse, Hugh Miller's Cottage, Cromarty; Groam House Pictish Museum, Rosemarkie; Black Isle Brewery, Munlochy; Black Isle Wildlife Park, North Kessock and dolphin-watching trips from various locations.
